Two kinds of patient, one clinic
Most people who reach this page fall into one of two groups, and they want quite different things.
If you live in Portugal, you are probably looking for a regular dentist — someone to handle check-ups, a filling, a cleaning, an orthodontic plan — and you would rather not do it in a language you are still learning. You may also have health insurance through your employer and no idea how it works here. Both of those are solvable.
If you are coming to Portugal for treatment, you are weighing cost against risk, and the risk is real: a clinic you cannot assess from abroad, a plan you cannot get a second opinion on, and no one to call if something goes wrong after you fly home. What kind of clinic this is
The clinic was opened by Dr. António Bexiga in 1989 and is still run by the same family. That is unusual in Portuguese dentistry right now — most of what you will find in Lisbon belongs to a chain, where the clinician you meet in January may not be there in June.
It matters practically. Implant work and orthodontics run over months or years, and continuity of the person doing them is not a sentimental point. It is the difference between a plan that holds together and one that gets handed over twice.
We have two locations. The Lisbon clinic on Avenida 5 de Outubro has a Sirona 3D CBCT scanner, which is what implant planning is done on. The Portela clinic is about ten minutes from the airport and is step-free for wheelchair access.
How we quote
We do not give final prices over WhatsApp for anything involving surgery. What we do give you is a realistic range, an honest view of whether the thing you are asking for is the right treatment, and a written quote after a proper assessment.
If a clinic quotes you a full-mouth reconstruction from a photograph, that is not efficiency. It is a number that will change.
Getting seen
Message us in English on WhatsApp, or email the clinic. Tell us what the problem is, roughly when you are available, and whether you would prefer Lisbon or Portela. If you have a recent X-ray, send it — it usually saves a visit.
